The Merlion
The Merlion, with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, was designed in 1964 for the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). The statue of the imaginary creature remains an enduring attraction and icon of Singapore, with its long mane, fierce water-spouting visage and graceful tail.
